国立歴史民俗博物館（歴博）では「総合資料学の創成」のため、メタ資料学研究センターを新設し、大学や博物館等と協働してワークショップを重ねながら、研究と日本の歴史資料の新しい関係を創り出しています。この歴博が目指す「総合資料学」についてご紹介します。

総合資料学とは、主に歴史資料を多様な形で分析・研究するための学問です。多様な「モノ」資料を時代・地域・分野等によって分類し、分野を超えた視点から 統合的に分析することで、高度な共同利用・共同研究へと結びつけます。これら、日本の歴史資料の活用により、人文学・自然科学・情報学の分野を超えた新た な日本史像の構築を目指す学問です。
この総合資料学構築のために、日本の歴史的資料をLinked Data（データをリンクでつないで資料情報をより豊かにするしくみ）やIIIF（画像を国際的に共同運用するための規格）によってデジタル化して情報基 盤を構築するワークショップと情報基盤を活用した文理融合型研究を行うワークショップ、情報基盤と研究成果を教育や展示等に活用するワークショップの三つ を構成して、研究を行っています。 - 大学・博物館等との連携
歴博は、総合資料学の取り組みにおいて国内外の関係機関との連携をとりわけ重視しています。日本の歴史資料情報のデジタルネットワークを構築することを通 じて研究資源化し、より高度かつ国際的に連携した研究を進めることを目指します。デジタルネットワークの構築は、災害に備えた資料のバックアップにも役立 ちます。 - 国際発信・研究連携
資料情報の英訳をすすめ、海外の日本研究者や東アジア研究者が、日本国内の資料によりアクセスしやすくなる環境を整えます。日本の資料情報を英語に翻訳し、発信することで、連携を可能にし、共同で研究する環境を整えます。

The National Museum of Japanese History (NMJH) opened the Center for Integrated Studies of Cultural and Research Resources to establish its core research project, “Constructing Integrated Studies of Cultural and Research Resources.” This project offers unique insight into a variety of studies and Japanese historical resources, through multidisciplinary collaboration with universities, museums, and other institutions. - What is “Integrated Studies of Cultural and Research Resources”? http://www.metaresource.jp/
“Integrated Studies of Cultural and Research Resources” approaches Japanese historical resources through interdisciplinary study in the humanities and sciences using information infrastructure. Classifying various cultural and research materials into time periods, regions, and research fields, and analysis with an interdisciplinary scope can lead to more advanced sharing infrastructure and additional cooperative studies. - Cooperative works with universities, museums, and other institutions
With this project, NMJH emphasizes collaboration with relevant institutions both in and outside Japan. We aim to develop advanced, international cooperative studies by constructing a digital network of historical resource information in Japan. Renovation of this digital network will also enable backup of resource information in case of disaster, further supporting infrastructure. - International outgoing and cooperation
We are developing an English translation of resource information and creating an environment that enables access to resources in Japan. International export of resource information in Japan can realize collaboration and create an environment that supports cooperative research.
