Last year's CROSS-TALK project (2023) was designed to create an online meeting place for Japanese and European librarians to get together, but we would like to talk with you again about the topics that we were not able to discuss in depth due to time constraints.
The term ‘open science’ has been in use for some time now, and its significance and effects are increasingly recognised, regardless of whether the field is science, technology or the humanities. This is reflected in the fact that university libraries have been and are still focusing on open access, research data management and digital archiving.
What are some of the skills university libraries need if they want to support open science?
How can digital archive capabilities and librarian skills contribute to areas such as citizen science, data/AI literacy and digital humanities?
In this cross-talk, panelists from both Japan and Europe, as well as participants, will exchange views from different perspectives from domestic discussions, taking into accountprevious cases, literature and discussions.
